Why U CAN!
U CAN was created to support youth in navigating a constantly changing labor-market: employment rates are inconsistent across sectors; employers face a persistent shortage of skilled and/or an aging workforce; artificial intelligence (AI) and automation are impacting most industries; and most jobs youth need to learn skills to be success in the future do not exist today.
U CAN closes that gap by expanding high‑quality career and learning pathways for youth and young adults who need a hand to successfully navigate their career journey. By connecting youth to internships & apprenticeships, providing avenues to experience hands‑on training, establishing community-based mentoring in career aligned fields, and/or helping identify resources and scholarships to support youth and young adults as they transition into a professional career path. We aim to help participants have a faster entry into durable careers with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever evolving labor market.
